Plastic bags used just for few minutes and then immediately thrown: killing millions of birds and marine creatures each year, polluting the beaches, seas and cities and poisoning the environment.

• 1 million seabirds choke or die due to ingestion of plastic bags coming from municipal waste or discarded and abandoned fishing nets;
• among more than 100,000 marine animals and sea turtles suffer the same fate.

Sea turtles, for example, swallow plastic bags mistaking them for jellyfish their preferred prey,while dolphins and whales swallow plastic confused between the schools of fish they eat.
